Brendan Rodgers accepts to return to Celtic

Brendan Rodgers is expected to return to Celtic after leaving for Leicester City after winning seven titles during his first stint at Parkhead. Celtic will support Rodgers in the winter market to help him win the Scottish Premiership and qualify for the Champions League.

The 50-year-old moved for Leicester City midway through the 2018–19 season, much to the chagrin of many Celtic supporters. During his first stint in Glasgow, he won seven titles, including back-to-back domestic trebles.

Brendan Rodgers is expected to have reached an agreement that is more lucrative than his previous Celtic contract, making him once more the highest-paid manager in the club’s history.

Sky Sports News has been informed that Celtic’s board would support Rodgers in the transfer market so that he can produce domestic success and participate in the Champions League.

He will take the position of Ange Postecoglou, who joined Tottenham after winning three consecutive league crowns and a domestic treble the previous season.

Despite intending to take a significant sabbatical from coaching after leaving Leicester City in April, Rodgers had also been linked to the open position at Leeds United.

When Celtic last introduced a new manager, the team was in disarray after losing the league to Rangers by 25 points and had a number of players who were no longer under contract.

Postecoglou will be replaced by Brendan Rodgers, who will inherit a team in good shape with the potential to advance.
