Ini Edo opens up about marital regrets
Iniobong Edo Ekim, commonly known as Ini Edo, is a well-known Nollywood actress and has spoken candidly about her marital regrets.
She said she regrets walking down the aisle. The award-winning actress and movie producer made this known in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
On November 29, 2008, Ini Edo got married to an American-born businessman Philip Ehiagwina; nevertheless, the union lasted only five years before they separated in 2013.
Ini Edo acknowledged that choosing to settle down at the time wasn’t the best choice when asked why she regrets doing so.
“I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn’t the right move to make,” she said.
However, she made a point of saying that she would try marriage again “if the right person comes along.”
Ini Edo described why she chose to have her baby through surrogacy.
“I chose surrogacy because I had experienced several miscarriages, and I simply got tired of trying.
“I don’t have a husband, so I thought, why not have a child for myself, whether I have a husband or not? What other options do I have? And I wanted the child to be biologically mine. Thankfully, my eggs are viable, so I went ahead with it.”
