Paul Pogba signs for Monaco in a sensational return to Ligue 1, aiming to revive his career after injury-plagued seasons
After being banned for a doping offense, Paul Pogba is back playing football. In November of last year, the World Cup champion’s original four-year ban was revoked and shortened to 18 months, starting from his provisional suspension in September 2023.
After going seven months without a club, Pogba is back in football with his move to France, where he won the 2018 World Cup. After agreeing to the mutual termination of his Juventus contract in November of last year, the midfielder became a free agent.
After Pogba’s original four-year term for a doping infraction in February 2024 was lowered to 18 months, Juventus made the decision to fire him.
The 32-year-old was free to return to football in March because the 18-month timeframe began with his provisional ban in September 2023. However, Pogba has not made another professional appearance since.
The midfielder departed Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2022 to rejoin Juventus, where he made 12 appearances in his second term.
The midfielder has signed a 2-season deal and is now tied to the Club until 30th June 2027.
