Sancho’s Man Utd career at risk for no apology
According to Newsmen, Jadon Sancho is running out of time to apologize to Erik ten Hag, and there is a growing belief at Manchester United that his future at Old Trafford may be done.
Sancho has yet to apologize after publicly stating Ten Hag lied about the reasons he was pulled ahead of Arsenal’s 3-1 loss on September 3.
Ten Hag has asked the 23-year-old to apologize both privately and publicly, but he has been reluctant to do so thus far.
According to a source, reports that Sancho issued an apology in the immediate aftermath of the incident but it was not accepted are inaccurate.
According to a source close to the situation, Ten Hag has not completely ruled out the possibility of Sancho being reintegrated into the squad, but there is an understanding around the club that an apology received now, more than a month after his social media post, would not have the same impact as one received during initial talks with Ten Hag following the game at Arsenal.
Sancho continues to train alone at United’s Carrington training complex, with minimal connection with his senior teammates.
On Saturday, he was at Carrington watching the under-18 team while the main team arrived at Old Trafford ahead of their 2-1 win over Brentford.
Sancho, who joined from Borussia Dortmund in a £73 million ($89 million) move in 2021, is under contract until at least 2026, and the club is concerned about the financial blow that would be required to enable his exit if he opted to go in January.
His market worth has plummeted following two generally dismal seasons at United, and only a few clubs in the world can match his weekly wage of more than £300,000.
According to reports, Sancho’s England teammates, including Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, and Luke Shaw, have asked him to apologize and work his way back into the squad.
However, there are fears that the situation is affecting the dressing, and a solution must be found sooner rather than later.
