Liya reveals why she left DMW
Liya, a Nigerian musician, has explained why she abruptly left her record label, DMW.
In a podcast episode, Liya, dubbed “DMW’s first woman,” spoke candidly about her departure from the record label.
Even though she had songs like “Lakiriboto” and “Melo” while a member of DMW, she felt her career wasn’t getting the attention it deserved.
As a result of this impression, she was obliged to decide to drop the label.
Liya stated that her belief that DMW was not providing her profession with adequate attention and support was the primary cause for her departure.
She stated that she felt compelled to make a new beginning and chart a new path for her own musical career.
Even after leaving the music label, Liya acknowledged her gratitude to the current DMW roster of musicians and their efforts.
