Adesua Etomi spoke about her husband’s interest in politics
Adesua Etomi, a popular Nigerian actress, has said that she was horrified when her husband, Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, informed her he wanted to venture into politics.
Adesua said that his declaration immediately disturbed and scared her.
In a recent Hip TV interview, she explained that she later decided to support him because “purpose is more important than fear.”
On November 11, 2018, Banky stated his intention to compete for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Modern Democratic Party.
He lost to Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress and competed for the same seat on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, platform in the 2023 elections, but lost to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Attah Thaddeus.
She stated; “When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it.
But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent.”
