The Africa Movie Academy Awards, also known as AMAA and The AMA Awards, are given out each year to honor individuals who have excelled in the African film business or the industry in general. Peace Anyiam-Osigwe founded it, and the Africa Film Academy manages it.
The nominations for the 19th edition of the continental awards event have been revealed by the board of the Africa Film Academy (AFA), the organizers of the Africa Movie Academy Awards AMAA.
The 2023 AMA Awards will be celebrating outstanding achievements in African cinema across 26 categories.
This year’s theme is tagged Renaissance; Legacy in Motion. The AFA Chairman, Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe said this year’s edition will be held on October 29, 2023, at the Balmoral Hall, Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja Lagos.
