Anthony Joshua secures his third consecutive victory with a knockout win over Wallin.

Anthony Joshua secured his third victory of 2023, achieving a TKO triumph over Otto Wallin during the main event of the “Day of Reckoning” card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Having previously defeated Jermaine Franklin in April and Robert Helenius with a seventh-round knockout in August, Joshua added another win to his record with a fifth-round technical knockout against Wallin. Despite the anticipation of a tough challenge from Wallin, especially given his southpaw stance, Joshua dominated the match.

Wallin’s only prior defeat came in 2019 against Tyson Fury, positioned between Fury’s initial and second encounters with Wilder. Although Fury claimed a unanimous decision victory, Wallin made the night more challenging than expected for the lineal champ.

With this win, Joshua now boasts an impressive record of 27 victories and three losses, including 24 knockout wins. Prior to Joshua’s fight, Deontay Wilder faced a unanimous decision loss to former WBO heavyweight world champion Joseph Parker.

During the match, Wallin’s coach, Joey Garnache, decided to halt the fight to prevent his fighter from enduring further punishment. Joshua showcased a remarkable performance and, addressing his former rival Andy Ruiz post-fight, declared, “I’m back, I’m back.”
