Benin youths protest against Bobrisky’s arrival
Benin youths have protested in large numbers against the arrival of popular crossdresser Bobrisky in Benin following his alleged insult of the Oba of Benin.
Last year, the star sparked uproar and controversy when he quipped in a video that the Oba of Benin should come and marry him.
Many young people in Benin saw this as an insult to their culture and labeled him as not good enough.
As word circulated about the crossdresser’s intended return to the state for an event, many young people took to the streets to protest.
They were seen carrying signs that showed their displeasure in language like
“Bobrisky is a bad influence; we don’t want him in our state”.
