Bryan Mbeumo has long been admired by Manchester United, who believe he fits well with Ruben Amorim’s system. On Thursday, United made an upgraded offer of £71 million. The attacker is expected to join United on their preseason tour of the United States and undergo a medical there. Manchester United have agreed with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
A revised offer of £65 million plus £6 million in add-ons was made by United on Thursday. A few weeks ago, they had their prior bid of £55 million plus £7.5 million in add-ons refused.
The Bees have finally accepted their improved offer. The player’s current contract is up in two years.
Mbeumo is now scheduled to have a physical at United in the coming days, and there is increasing speculation that the forward will be part of the squad that departs for the United States for their preseason tour on Tuesday.
Brentford believes Mbeumo has earned the right to join a larger team this summer if they match his price.
Mbeumo is a player United has long admired, and he appears to be a good match in Ruben Amorim’s system.
Bryan Mbeumo scored 20 Premier League goals last season, helping Brentford finish in the top half. Only three players scored more.
He also contributed seven assists, but he should have had more. During the season, he recorded a league-high 9.26 predicted assists, the majority of which came from a table-topping 202 crosses.
He was also one of the league’s hardest grafters, with just two players attempting more sprints or covering more yards this season. He recorded the fourth-fastest speed, 36.63 km/h, showcasing his serious pace.
According to the Sky Sports Power Rankings, only Mohamed Salah had more form points than Mbeumo the previous season.
