Families and Liverpool Teammates Mourn at the funeral of Diogo Jota and André Silva.

Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva’s funeral service has concluded, and a procession is making its way to the cemetery in their hometown of Gondomar, where they will be laid to rest.

The duration of the service was approximately one hour. Jota’s Liverpool colleagues Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk were among those there, as they were spotted bringing flowers into the chapel before the event.

According to Sofia Ferreira Santos, our reporter in Gondomar, there is a common sombreness as well as a great sense of solidarity as they enter together.

Speakers outside the Igreja Matriz, where hundreds of mourners, both young and old, are still gathered, broadcast an audio stream of the service.

As the funeral service this morning comes to a close, a sizable group of mourners remains gathered outside the Gondomar church.

The procession is currently en route to the cemetery where André Silva and Diogo Jota will be laid to rest.

As the bell starts to ring again and Ave Maria echoes from the church speakers, family members and friends accompany their coffins.

The fans gathered here to applaud the large collection of guests, including family, friends, and loved ones.

In Anfield, Liverpool, hundreds of miles away, fans have been honoring Diogo Jota, who joined the team in 2020 and scored 65 goals in 182 games.
