The historic coronation ceremony will soon begin with the arrival of the King and Queen at Westminster Abbey. Several senior royals have entered Westminster Abbey as King Charles approaches the building.
Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Prince Andrew, his siblings, have all taken their places. Earlier, members of Queen Camilla’s family, including her former husband Andrew Parker-Bowles, daughter Laura Lopes, and son Tom Parker-Bowles, arrived at the Abbey.
The couple is traveling to the event on the Diamond Jubilee State Coach pulled by six Windsor Grey horses, breaking a small tradition. Four divisions of the Household Cavalry, the sovereign’s most trusted protectors, are leading them down the 1.3-mile path.
Two divisions of the Blues and Royals and two divisions of the Life Guards make up each division, which has 24 horses in total.
The Household Cavalry Mounted Band, which consists of 48 horses and musicians and will play eight marches along the route, is leading the parade.
The interior of the coach is impeccably upholstered in primrose yellow silk and embellished with objects related to Britain and its past.
It is truly a microcosm of both British and global history. Before today’s festivities, Sally Goodsir, the decorative arts curator for the Royal Collection Trust, said: “There are woods from the royal homes, from explorations, and other countries and nations as well.
Prince Harry arrives
Similarly, Prince Harry has arrived at the ceremony, among the first group of royals to enter the Abbey.
