Controversial Big Brother Naija entertainer Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, also known as Phyna, has stated that polygamy is only for wealthy men.
She made this statement in a recent edition of her podcast “Spill with Phyna” while talking about it with her co-star, Tacha.
She used instances to support her point, claiming that Yul’s decision to marry his second wife, Judy Austin, would have been more acceptable to his first wife, May, if he had been affluent.
According to her, money plays an important role in the success of polygamous marriages, citing the example of millionaire businessman Ned Nwoko, who has six wives, including popular actress Regina Daniels.
When comparing Ned’s predicament to Yul’s, Phyna believes that if her husband had a higher net worth, May would have been more understanding of his decision to take a second wife.
Her statement provoked a flurry of reactions from netizens, many of whom disagreed with her.
