Rema is accused of Devil worship by Ethiopians
According to rumors, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, the phenomenal Nigerian singer, has canceled his highly awaited show in Ethiopia due to religious concerns.
The Sheraton Hotel in Addis Abeba issued an official statement regarding Rema’s Ethiopian New Year’s Eve Concert, which was originally scheduled for September 9.
The decision to cancel the event was made in response to charges of “devil-worshipping” related with the artwork on his handmade necklace.
Rema is known for wearing a necklace with an image of a burning church and inverted crosses. He also utilizes the same image for his album cover and live performances.
Many Ethiopians saw this as rude and offensive, prompting widespread public outrage and criticism.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, which is steeped in cultural heritage and religious convictions, has also expressed strong opposition to these emblems.
The Sheraton Hotel in Addis Abeba was forced to cancel the event due to rising pressure.
In a recent interview with Nigerian media celebrity Daddy Freeze, an Ethopian woman verified this development, saying it was canceled owing to charges of demon worship.
