Rema reacts to Illuminati rumours
Divine Ikubor, also known as Rema, a Nigerian singer, has finally addressed rumors of his connection with the world’s most powerful secret society, the Illuminati.
These rumors have been circulating for quite some time, particularly since the ‘Dumebi’ singer began wearing a chain with a pendant depicting a burning church and an upside-down cross.
The dispute erupted, however, when he published a video announcing his next EP, ‘Smooth Criminal – Ravage,’ which is set to be released this Friday. The video had a strange and sinister feel to it, complete with bats.
This irritated many of his supporters, who chastised him for what they saw as an infusion of satanism in his video.
Rema, for one, did not take the insults lightly and turned to Instagram to refute claims that he had joined the Illuminati.
He claimed that the bats and crimson backdrop represent his Edo history and have nothing to do with satanism or the Illuminati.
Furthermore, he stated that he has worked too hard in his music career to allow others to blame his success on the devil, and that ‘Jesus is King.’
Read his full statement below,
“Day 1 Ravers, help me educate the new Ravers that I have been on this bat shit for a long time. You all would have so much clarity if you easily Google where I’m from, what the key colors of my heritage are, what flies in the skies of Benin every evening, etc.
“As I evolve, my execution will evolve unapologetically. Please know your artist. It is why I do interviews. And that Illuminati talk is trash. I work too hard to create art for you guys to give the glory to some diabolical shit. Dead it now. Jesus is King.”
