The Big Brother Naija star admitted in a video that last year’s decision of the United States made sense because Afrobeats were growing popularity in the country.
She did, however, express her anger with them for having the award event in the United States again, which she considered insulting to Nigerians.
Tacha, drawing a parallel with the American award program BET Awards, stated that the award ceremony could never be conducted in Africa.
She also recounted how, during the BET Awards, African artists were presented their trophy plaques backstage rather than on the main stage.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old influencer claimed that the decision to hold the Headies awards in the United States reflects a “colonial mentality.”
