The Mother is a 2023 upcoming American action drama film directed by Niki Caro with a screenplay by Misha Green, Andrea Berloff and Peter Craig, from a story by Green. The film stars Jennifer Lopez, Joseph Fiennes, Omari Hardwick, and Gael García Bernal.
The Mother is scheduled to be released in May 2023, by Netflix.
While fleeing from dangerous assailants, an ex-assassin comes out of hiding to protect the estranged daughter she left earlier in her life.
In the new teaser, we see a ripped Lopez doing a ton of chin-ups, all while clad in pristine white workout apparel. She’s tough as hell — as further evidenced by her pulling a dead elk through the snow near her hideout — and she’s handy with a gun. In the voiceover, Lopez tells someone, “She needs protection right now. You saw what was out there,” all while viewers get quick glimpses of car chases, speeding motorcycles and all sorts of tactical gear. “They’re going to keep coming,” Lopez’s voiceover continues. “If there’s trouble, come find me.”
